Car Parking in Yarm

Our church is located on West Street, Yarm, which is the street running parallel to the High Street, but on the other side of the railway viaduct. There is limited free parking along part of West Street (where there are no double yellow lines) but this is often taken either by residents or people visiting the town.

You can park your car on the High Street, but charges apply from 0900 (9 am) to 1700 (5pm) on Mondays to Saturdays, but they do not apply on Sundays and English Bank Holidays. It is a short walk through High Church Wynd (between the travel agents and the House) or Low Church Wynd (between the Opticians/Kyle Trave/Purple Pig and the Sony Shop) to reach West Street and our church.

The first hour of charged parking is free, however you must display on your car's dashboard a parking ticket from the nearby parking machines for the free period. Press the green button on the parking machine and a free Pay and Display ticket will be issued by the machine (which looks like this >>>>). The  green button is to the right of the yellow coin slot as you look at the machine.

Parking for an additional two hours will cost a £1 and £1 per hour after that, with no maximum stay. You put the required monies in the yellow coin slot for the number of extra hours (after the first free hour) and then press the green button for your Pay and Display ticket.

Long Stay car parks are also available at three car parks in the town - Castle Dyke Wynd car park (TS15 9DE), The Old Market car park (TS15 9BX) and Yarm Wharf car park (TS15 9AH) for which the charge is £1.50 for all day parking on Monday to Saturday (except English Bank Holidays when it is free).
