The Church has had a robed choir singing in parts for many years

Our Church Choir on the opening of the vestry in 1906

We look slightly different these days!!!!

Our organist and choir master is Dr Robin Harrison, PhD BMus/GradRNCM (Hons) FNCM ARCO LTCL DipLCM PGCE (QTS). We are affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), and we try to join with other choirs in joint events when we can.

Our role is to enhance the worship at St Mary Magdalene, however there is no congregational singing allowed until restrictions are lifted

If you are interested in joining just come along to one of our rehearsals please contact Robin on 07871 085332 or e-mail

The most popular music chosen by couples who are getting married at St Mary Magdalene are "The Bridal March" by Wagner during the entry of the bride and the "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn as the newly married bride and groom walk down the aisle together. However other alternatives are available.

During a wedding registration the choir are very pleased to sing.
